Detroit+Iverson=championship contention

About two weeks ago, the detroit pistons made a gigantic move with Denver Nuggets with the trade of Point guard Chauncy Billups and power forward Antonio McDyess for the 11 year superstar veteran Allen Iveson. McDyess, however, did not want any part of the trade eventhough that was a part of the original deal. "He will not put on a nuggets uniform"a source close to him says. McDyess even considered the option of retiring rather than playing for the nuggets.

Now we all know that both teams are benefitting in a major way. Denver received a commanding floor general in Chauncy Billups. The former piston can shoot, penetrate, pass, run the floor extremely well and is one of the most clutch players in the NBA right now. Denver needs a point guard of this magnitude and with this level of experience. Now im not sayin a championship is guarunteed with the edition of Billups, but with him, Carmelo, and the rest of the supporting cast, they are sure to have a higher number in the "Wins" column then last year.

On the flip-side of the deal, the pistons receive the human scoring machine Allen Iverson. Even at his days at Georgetown he just always had a knack for finding ways to put the ball in the basket. With Iverson added to the roster, not only will it mean more points per game for the pistons (and probably more wins this season as well) but it will also mean more opportunites for others to contribute to Detroit's success. Because of the high level of respect that Iverson commands because of his scoring ability, he'll get double-teamed, maybe even triple-teamed which will open up numerous possibilities for others to score. The scoring threat for the pistons has doubled with the iverson acqusition for that organization, it just might mean championship contention

dream: fulfilled

Ok i know this isnt sports related but its waaaaaaaaay more important.....On tuesday, Nov.4 2008, not only was history made, but a dream was realized and was manifested into reality. Im sure you all know by now that Barack Obama was elected president on tuesday...if not, either you havent been watching television at all for the past 5 days( including tuesday), you haven't read any newspapers, magazines or been on the internet for 5 days , u havent listened to the radio at all ,or in other words, you've been living under a rock for almost a week....so what exactly does this men??? Barack Obama being elected president that is.....well, to me it means change...many types of change i might add....a change in the way this country will be ran economically and socially.....a change in people's views regarding race...a change in education and equality.....but most importantly, it means change in the minds of our youth....his victory instills the idea that no matter what ethnicity you are or where you come from with hardwork, drive, and perserverance anything is possible...even becoming president of a country....it gives hope to the people who will eventually decide the fate of this country.....now im not sayin that Martin Luther King Jr.'s dream has been COMPLETELY attained, but with Barack as the new president, it wont be long before it will be......and that my friends, is a dream fulfilled.
